First colour your VELVET ART® picture with the VELVET ART® Pens supplied. Follow the colours of the copy picture or create your own colour combinations.
When all the colouring is complete, it’s time to decorate the coloured picture with glitter. Follow the steps set out below. For best results apply the glitter onto the main feature of the foreground of your picture. The colour glitter should match the colour of an area; for example, use red glitter on red areas. Orange glitter matches orange or light brown areas, silver glitter matches grey or white areas and turquoise glitter matches light blue or dark green areas. Transparent (pearl) glitter can be applied onto any colour, including white areas. If you have black glitter in your set, use this on grey coloured areas. If you have white or pearl glitter in your set, use this first to keep it clean.
1)Prepare for glittering by spreading some newspaper on your table. The glitter might be awkward to gather up if you drop some on the carpet; preferably use glitter in a place where you can sweep up afterwards. Crease the instruction leaflet along the middle both ways.
2)To apply the glue, uncap of the nozzle and squeeze the bottle gently. Tip: Practise the glue application on a separate sheet of scrap paper before using it on your picture.
3) Choose only wide areas where you can apply the glue comfortably without touching the black velvet. Staying ¼” within, follow the outline of an area and then fill in the middle. Apply the glue thickly. Very large areas should be covered in stages. Tip: If you unintentionally apply glue onto the velvet outlines, just leave it to dry. The glue will dry up clear.
4)Pour some glitter of the matching colour onto the glued area. Whilst holding it flat in one hand, tap the picture gently from underneath, causing the unstuck glitter to bounce aside and cover a further glued area. Shake off any excess glitter onto the (pre-creased) instruction leaflet. Repeat process. Tip: Always return picture quickly to horizontal position and keep it flat until the glue has dried completely.
5)When you have finished with the first colour glitter, funnel any spare glitter back into its sachet. Ensure that the glue has dried under the previous glitter before repeating the process with the next colour glitter.
